Books I've been reading...

I have been working on the boy's books read list, but it is a long one!  I thought I would also start keeping track of books I am reading or listening to myself.  For a lot of motherhood years, I didn't get to read much at all.  I know myself well enough to know  I will be grouching if interrupted from a book.  This past year or so I dove in head-first, sometimes over-indulging to be sure!

(I don't do TV or movies really)

This list is from books from the past year:

JRR Tolkien:
Hobbit
LOTR
Simarillion
Untold Stories

(My second or third read through of the books... This time I got to read Hobbit and LOTR to Noah)

PG Wodehouse:
Clicking of Cuthburt
Summer Lightning
A Damsel in Distress
The Coming of Bill
Meet Mr Mulliner
Blandings Castle and Elsewhere
Lord Emsworth and Others
A Pelican at Blandings
The Girl in Blue

Jane Austen:
Pride and Prejudice
Sense and Sensibility
Lady Susan
Emma
Mansfield Park
Northanger Abbey
Persuasion

Ursula Le Guin:
Wizard of Earthsea
Tombs of Atuan
The Furthest Shore
Tehanu
Tales from Earthsea
The Other Wind
Gifts
Voices
Powers
Lathe of Heaven

Charlotte Bronte:
Jane Eyre

Chess

My husbands' new interest naturally becomes the study of my kids. They have all been taking instructions from Bobby Fishers' book.  Ahsh has a natural proclivity for it.  Today as he casually puts dad in check he remarks, "maybe someday I'll be a granny master!"
