Ahshua's name is derived from the Hebrew transliteration of the name Jesus, "Yahshua." It means Yahwey's salvation or Yahwey is salvation. We heard the name and loved it before he was conceived and when I learned that I was pregnant again, that was it. We think it is a strong name and it fits.
I thought I would post this rare shot of the entire family, I think I need to do something about that! We have almost no shots of all of us! Adam (my sisters hubby) took this of us outside of their house, when we were on our way to the Kimya Dawson show...
Okay so I finally put up rep's from the other two shoots that occupied quite a bit of my "extra" time for a couple weeks. The other beautiful Hannah, and flip. I was really pleased with all of the girls' pictures, they were beautiful, all really photogenic, but also I really enjoyed hanging out and getting to know them better -they are all really neat girls. I have to admit though that I really had the most fun from the photography/learning point of view, doing Flips (aka Drew or Andrew) experimental shoot. I was trying out my new gear, and when it came to posting photo's, I just couldn't decide on what ones to leave out because their was such a variety. So I just posted a bunch. These two are mine and Beau's favorites (respectively)...
Pray for us, we feel like we have 900 irons in the fire... It is hard to know which one to focus attention on and feels like no matter what we are neglecting others... hottest irons right now: housing, Annica..., Beau finishing school, my little endeavors, Gods financial provisions, time together and mostly time with God time in general! time to relax!! yikes.
The kids first concert... went to see Kimya Dawson play a benefit concert at the free school. It was really informal, Kimya walked around talking to people and Annica decided to get her autograph complete with a panda face. Noah fell asleep during the opening act. We sat in the very front, about 10 feet away with about 300 people at our backs.
Her first 4 or so songs were from her new kids cd she just released...
okay so I didn't get to finish the story, but after the initial kids songs she launched into some of her older stuff... then she decides that it was okay to start dropping "F" bombs her and there and some illusions in the lyrics that fortunately, Annica didn't catch. SOOOO we ended up having to walk out. Let me paint the picture. It was a elementary school theater, everyone (300 people-ish) sat on the floor, except around 50 or so in the back on kids chairs. We sat directly in front of the stage, about 10 ft away from Kimya, literally she walked over Noah's sleeping legs to get up the stage (which was only about 2 1/2 feet or so up). We had to stand up in front of about 300 people, in front of her face and walk out. It really sucked and to tell you the truth we felt really heavy and crappy. Also we spent $35 on the tickets, $20 on the t-shirts and some more on snacks.. and were left feeling really crappy... The good new is we got to have a good talk with Annica who wanted to leave also, and were able to model walking away under pressure. Lesson learned I guess.... non-the-less, her kids songs were really fun
... Soooo, what I've been up to is senior picture season, and I feel like I am really advancing and learning a lot... or maybe I just have gorgeous subjects to work with?? Any way the shoots have been amazing ! I just received my studio stuff in the mail, buuttt I'm having troubles with my flash receiver so I haven't really been able to do anything yet. Beau said we can try to find one tomorrow and send mine back...TO HONG KONG!! thanks ebay! Lesson learned...
Beau about killed me for allowing the sun in the lens but these were really fun, I'm trying to mess around with grunging effects but it is more challenging to get exactly the effect that I want than I thought it would be...

pps I tried this grunge photo out then purchased it when I decided I liked it and would use it (hence the stock lines, this was my practice photo)
Grandma Sue is the coolest! We got a box full of crocheted goodies and after literally a whole cafe of people commenting that they know at least 5 people who would buy the hat the boys were where if they were up for sell, I set Grandma Sue up with a super awesome etsy account. Of course my kids were modeling the goods.. tomorrow I will have Annica's hand warmer samples up as well... check out the eye-candy:
